1 Suffolk Resolves
истЕдиногласно приняты 9 сентября 1774 представителями Бостона и окрестных городов, собравшихся в графстве Саффолк [Suffolk County] после роспуска англичанами органов власти Массачусетса. Содержали протест против т.н. "гнусных законов" [ Intolerable Acts], отказ исполнять эти законы и подчиняться английским чиновникам, призывали граждан прекратить выплату налогов и начать еженедельные занятия ополчения [ militia]. Текст резолюций был передан П. Ревиром [ Revere, Paul] в Филадельфию, где они были поддержаны на Первом Континентальном конгрессе [First Continental Congress; Continental Congresses]English-Russian dictionary of regional studies > Suffolk Resolves

(1741-1775) Уоррен, ДжозефВрач. После принятия Закона о гербовом сборе [ Stamp Act] активно включился в борьбу за независимость колоний. Участвовал в подготовке Суффолкских резолюций [ Suffolk Resolves] (1774). В 1775 был избран председателем законодательной ассамблеи Массачусетса. 18 апреля 1775 отправил Пола Ревира [ Revere, Paul] с донесением о приближении отряда английских войск к Конкорду [ Lexington and Concord].
